Violet "Vi" Louise Detwiler's Obituary
Violet "Vi" Louise Detwiler, age 93, of Lewes, DE passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at her home. She was born on May 12, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Harry and Violet P. (Sharp) Maier.
Mrs. Detwiler relocated from Swarthmore, PA more than 30 years ago to be near her son and daughter-in-law. Throughout her life, she was an avid sewer who enjoyed sewing for her friends and neighbors. She also loved working with arts and crafts especially beading and making pillows. When time permitted, Mrs. Detwiler also enjoyed gardening. She was an animal lover who loved her granddogs. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Detwiler was preceded in death by her first husband, John Quigley, Jr., her second husband, Alton Detwiler and her son, William R. Quigley. She is survived by her son John Quigley, III and his wife Mary of Milton, DE, grandchild, Dawn Johnston and her husband Chris of Glenmoore, PA and three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Casey and Rachel.
