Violet "Cis" G. Horn's Obituary
Violet G. Horn, "Cis", age 86, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 19, 1926 in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (King) Givens.
Mrs. Horn graduated from Conrad High School in Newport, DE in 1944 and went on to work for Hercules Inc., Wilmington, DE. Shortly after in 1946, she married her grade school sweetheart, Bayard R. Horn and they would soon start their family in 1948. Mrs. Horn was not only a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, but also worked countless hours keeping the books for her husband's businesses. She was active in several organizations including Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Village Improvement Association, Cape Henlopen Senior Center, Rehoboth Beach Country Club, Newark Country Club and Eagle Ridge Country Club of Fort Myers, FL. Following retirement, she enjoyed spending her winters in Fort Myers, FL, traveling, golfing, the beach and going out with friends for a good dinner. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend who will be missed dearly.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Givens. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Bayard R. Horn; her son, Bayard C. Horn and Joan Twinem of Fort Myers, FL; her daughter, Bonnie L. Lepson and her husband Thomas of Red Lion, PA; her four grandchildren: Niki Infantino and her husband Coal, Jessica Mitchell and her husband Captain Drew Mitchell, Ryan Horn, and Megan Horn; and her loving golden retriever, Chloe.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 301 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE. Interment will be private.
