Vincenza Jane "Vanzy" Hynson's Obituary

Vincenza Jane "Vanzy" Hynson, age 94 of Tequesta, FL and formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020. She was born on November 5, 1925 in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Vincent and Anna Avenia.
Mrs. Hynson pursued and received a Bachelor's Degree in 1946 from New Haven State Teachers College, now a part of the University of Connecticut. She built a career as a kindergarten teacher and truly enjoyed working with young children and watching them learn and grow. She was a generous volunteer, dedicating time to both AI DuPont Hospital for Children and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Mrs. Hynson had a wide variety of interests and hobbies; she enjoyed traveling, shopping, card games, and was a casual golfer. Above all, she cherished time spent with those she held most dear. Mrs. Hynson was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hynson was preceded in death by her beloved husband and childhood sweetheart of more than 77 years, James W. Hynson. She is survived by her son, Jim Hynson (Chris) of Newark, DE; her daughters: Linda Siena (Bill Duffy) of Jupiter, FL, Diane Ogorek (Rich) of West Chester, PA, Karen Verica (Jack) of Tequesta, FL, and Judy Scrutchfield (Ron) of Lewes, DE; her grandchildren: Josh Hynson, Julianna Hynson, Jonathan Hynson, Jill Hynson, Justin Ogorek, Lauren Magee (Brendan), Adam Ogorek (Ashley), Jillian Ogorek, Jackie Hudiberg, Joann Plockova (Roman), Dan Scrutchfield, and Andrew Scrutchfield; and her great-grandchildren: Kendra, Hayden, Harper, Whitman, and Ava.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Pilottown Road, Lewes.
Social distancing protocol will be observed and masks are mandatory for all attending services.
