She was also a helpline volunteer for Living Beyond Breast Cancer, counseling women in similar circumstances as her own. Vicki was honored for her service by both the American Cancer Society and by the Delaware Governors’ office represented by First Lady Martha Markell.
From early childhood Vicki aspired to be a ballet dancer. She performed ballet and modern dance in school and with local dance troupes. Following in her father’s footsteps, she also became an avid Clemson Tigers football fan, managing to attend several games each year. Other major interests included motion pictures, great novels (particularly suspense), bicycling, the beach, race walking, travel, history and the performing arts. Vicki was extremely fond of her adopted hometown Rehoboth with its friendly people, great restaurants, fun activities, healthy relaxed lifestyle, and small town welcoming feel. This love developed in her childhood through family vacations spent at Rehoboth and Bethany Beach.
Vicki and her family wish to thank the Helen Graham Cancer Center in Christiana and Elite PT in Rehoboth for their special care and compassion, and her ability to maintain a robust life during her lengthy battle.
