Dear Kathleen and family,
My thoughts are with you all in the loss of your dear mom and grandma!
I remember her well from when I first came to USA. She was expecting you Kathleen, and she was sitting on her knees digging in the flowerbed in Shepherd Street, when the car pulled up to the house with your dad her dad and me! Your dad got a little upset about it! But that was how your mom worked. She did not let a little baby stop her. She was a hard worker and she worked long hours in the hospital, sometimes48 hours stretches, but when she came home, she was a full time mama and housekeeper! I know she must have been very tired sometimes, but she took care of her children as best as she could.
For many years I have not seen her or heard much about her, but she put a mark on my life. She got me to USA and I have been here since and I should have thanked her for that!
Much love from Karin Halverson.
