Velma June Snyder's Obituary
Velma June Snyder, age 96 of Lewes, DE and formerly of New York, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, in Lewes. She was born on May 5, 1925, in Sandy Creek, NY, daughter of the late Stuart and Mina Daniels.
Mrs. Snyder worked as a punch press operator for Smith & Corona typewriter company in Groton, NY, retiring after 19 dedicated years. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and as a devout Pentecostal, reading daily from her Bible. She was a faithful member of the Christian Healing Center, in Milton, DE. Mrs. Snyder was a homemaker and mother who found great joy in her role as matriarch, raising her beautiful family, of whom she was so proud. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her stepchildren: Edwin Snyder, Ricky Snyder, and Mary Cummings. She is survived by her beloved husband, David Snyder of Lewes, DE; her son, Phillip Janes of Watkins Glen, NY; her daughters: Phyllis Reynolds of Auburn, NY, Juanita Lansdowne of Homer, NY, Lucille Williams of Earlville, NY, and Annette Stevens of Marathon, NY; her stepchildren: David Snyder, Jr., Johnny Snyder, Bobby Snyder, Mike Snyder, Paul Snyder, Timmy Snyder, Joseph Snyder, Mark Snyder, and Janice McCarthy; her sister, Vivian Nealson of Courtland, NY; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at 1:00 PM, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, masks must be worn, and social distancing must be observed by any and all persons participating in any aspect of the services.
