Tommy "T.C." Coveleski's Obituary
Tommy "T.C." Coveleski, age 60, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016, at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born Wednesday, March 30, 1955 in Lewes, DE, to the late Frank L. and Patricia A. (Madden) Coveleski.
During his 60 years of life he impacted this community in so many different ways. For 37 years he was a proud and dedicated member of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol following in the legacy of his equally beloved father, the late, Frank "Coach" Coveleski. He was a highly respected teacher at the Sussex Consortium and he will be greatly missed by the many students he taught and loved. TC was a coach for Rehoboth and Lewes Little Leagues, The Cape League, and the YMCA recreation teams. He did his best to make sure every youngster had an enjoyable experience under his tutelage.
There was no one around who exuded a more positive attitude than Tommy. He was a friend to all and wore a sincere smile that made you feel comfortable in his presence.
T.C. was an avid runner and sports fan. It was hard to miss his unique running style as he navigated the roads and beaches of Rehoboth. He loved the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Rams, but his true favorites were any team of which his many nieces and nephews were on from Little League through college. He was a special person who enjoyed simple things in life. You never walked away from a conversation without feeling better about yourself. He fought his two year battle with cancer with a strength that was inconceivable.
Tommy was loved by his brothers and sisters. Uncle Tommy was adored by his nieces and nephews. T.C. was loved and respected by his many friends. Tommy had a positive outlook on life and a desire to help others. His love and dedication to his family, friends, and the Rehoboth Beach Community will be greatly missed.
Tommy is survived by his two brothers: John Coveleski and his wife, Sandy, of Dover, DE and Dr. Peter Coveleski and his wife, Staci, of Lewes, DE; three sisters: Kristin Coveleski, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Maura Sheehy and her husband, Terry, of Holland, PA and Karin Elentrio and her husband, Mike, of Middletown, DE; his loving nephews and nieces: Josh Coveleski and his wife, Kristen, Sean Coveleski, Samantha Coveleski-Mazur and her husband, Dan, Max Coveleski, Kaci Coveleski, Jacki Coveleski, Hank Coveleski, Joe Coveleski, Tara Sheehy, Lexi Sheehy, Meg Sheehy, Mollie Sheehy, Alex Elentrio, Madden Elentrio and Luke Elentrio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 1:00 PM at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow the services at the All Saints Cemetery, 20274 Beaver Dam Road at Rt. 23, Harbeson, DE.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tommy's name to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
