Thomas B. Sullivan's Obituary
Thomas B. Sullivan, age 65, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, on August 20, 1943, son of the late Thomas and Olive (Barraclough) Sullivan. He graduated from Northern Cambria High School where he was president of his class all four years and later graduated from St. Francis College in Loretto, Pennsylvania, with a degree in chemistry. Tom began a long and distinguished career of 36 years with the DuPont Company in their Fibers Department joining in 1965 at the Seaford Nylon Plant. He held numerous leadership positions in Manufacturing, Quality, and Process Control in Seaford and eventually transferred to Wilmington to join Fibers' Product Distribution Organization holding management assignments in Distribution and Logistics. He became a member of the Fibers' Product Processing Group supporting growth initiatives through Contract Manufacturers' meeting new market introductions. Tom went full circle and finished his professional career as a Manufacturing Manager at Seaford Nylon Plant retiring in 2001.
He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus giving many years of service with both the St. Molua Council in Seaford and St. Pius Council of Wilmington, Delaware.
Tom coached many baseball and soccer teams through the years including the Concord Soccer Club traveling team. He also loved the game of golf and was a member of Kings Creek Country Club where he played with his dearest friend, Paul Esposito, almost every day until he became ill.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Christine, two daughters, Justine Donohoe, her husband, Mike, and three grandchildren, Conor, Quinn, and Colleen of Lewes, Delaware, Kimberly Coyle, her husband Kevin, and two grandchildren, Mason and Wade, of Ashburn, Virginia, and son, Sean married to Kelly McGee and grandson Brady of Hockessin, Delaware.
He is also survived by two brothers-in-law who thought of him as a brother, Justin Angellotto and Vincent Angellotto (wife Gloria Jean) and five nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 7, 11:00 a.m. at St. Edmond's Catholic Church, King Charles & Laurel Streets, Rehoboth Beach. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Enterprises, Inc., Lewes, DE.
