Thomas Louis Spraker's Obituary
Thomas L. Spraker, 85, died peacefully in his sleep on October 29, at his Georgetown home. Born on December 5, 1938, he was the son of the late Floyd and Arlene Hinds Spraker.
He retired from St. Thomas Inc, in Gloversville NY and owned and operated Spraker’s Kustom Kraft’s, a small engine repair shop in Bleecker NY. He specialized in snowmobile repairs and engine modifications.
In his youth, Tommy was able to join baseball teams. This would not have been possible if not sponsored by the late Bill Gabeler. As an adult he raced go-karts, cars, motorcycles, and snowmobiles. He enjoyed going to NASCAR races and the Georgetown Speedway. He loved the ocean and split his time between his homes in Ocean City MD. and Georgetown DE.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Peck Spraker and children: Tammy Hime (Mark), Terry “Duke” Spraker, Gloversville NY, Rebecca “Tomie” Spraker of Dagsboro DE, Dale Spraker (Cecilia) of Federalsburg MD, and Douglas “Jay” Spraker of West Ocean City. He is also survived by his brother Jack, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, grand and great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son, Thomas L. Spraker, Jr. and a sister, Janice Landers.
Following Tommy’s wishes, a private graveside service was held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Millsboro DE.
Tommy believed all children should have an opportunity to enjoy organized sports. Therefore, any financial contributions should be directed to help a child in need, join an organized sport or purchase needed sports equipment. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in his or her life.
