Thomas Harry Monroe's Obituary
Thomas Harry Monroe, 60, passed away on June 21, 2016. He was born on May 5, 1956 in Newport News, Virginia to Rosemary Ryan Monroe and the late Harry Monroe, Jr. He is the fourth of seven siblings. He is survived by his devoted spouse of 36 years, Timothy Craig Hester of Newport News, Baltimore and Millsboro.
Tom graduated from Homer L. Ferguson High School in Newport News, and earned his BA in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems from Notre Dame of Maryland University and his Master’s in Business Administration from Loyola University in Baltimore. He worked as an accountant at various companies in the Baltimore area before retiring to Millsboro in 2012.
Tom was an avid gardener who loved to read and sail. He enjoyed dogs and through the years he cared for Pugs, Cocker Spaniels and Labrador Retrievers. He had a keen interest in real estate.
In addition to his spouse, Tom is survived by his step-son Charles Keith Hester of Bel Air, Maryland and his wife Wendy and their children Brendon and Jillian; step-son Chad Kevin Hester and his wife Shelley of Parkville, Maryland; siblings Christine Moore, Michael Monroe, Robert Monroe, Ryan Monroe, Ned Monroe and Kevin Monroe.

A memorial service will be held at St. George’s Chapel, 20274 Beaver Dam Road (Rt. 23)
Harbeson DE 19951 on Friday June 24: visitation at 10:00am, services at 11:00 am.
