Thomas Louis DeEmedio's Obituary
Thomas (Tom) Louis DeEmedio, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 29, with his wife, Cindy, and sons, Matt and Mike, by his side. Tom was born in Allentown, PA, on May 11, 1949, the oldest child of Louis and Doris DeEmedio. He graduated from Brandywine High School and the University of Delaware, where he met Cindy. They were married in 1972 and raised two sons in Newark, DE.
Tom was employed by Topkis Associates and J.P. Donnelly Co., Inc., and also helped run the family business, Mr. C. Shops/The Nook, in Wilmington and Newark for many years.
Tom was an active member and treasurer of both the Newark Country Club and the Società da Vinci.
Tom and Cindy moved to Lewes full time in 2011. Tom spent many happy hours playing golf, fishing, cooking, and enjoying his favorite food—a hot dog.
Tom loved his family deeply, and nothing gave him more joy than having his family and grandchildren together, whether on vacation or at his home in Lewes. Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cindy; sons Matt DeEmedio of Millsboro, DE, and Mike DeEmedio of Santa Fe, New Mexico; daughter-in-law Amanda Perez of Santa Fe, New Mexico; grandchildren Alex Rose, Nick, Arlo, and Sonny DeEmedio; siblings Nancy Coupe of Wilmington, DE, Ronald DeEmedio of Newark, DE, Kathy Quinn (Bob) of Lewes, DE, and John DeEmedio (Liz) of Boynton Beach, FL; sisters-in-law Sandy Willoughby of Glen Mills, PA, and Maribeth Livingston (Scott) of Reisterstown, MD; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many dear, lifelong friends.
