Thomas Edward Clougher's Obituary
Thomas Edward Clougher, born on September 5, 1944, in Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on July 5, 2024, in Milford, DE. He was the son of the late Henry Clougher, Sr. and Kathleen (Callahan) Clougher.
After graduating high school, Thomas joined the United States Navy and served as a chef before later being promoted to gunman. His love for food continued after his military service, and he enjoyed experimenting with different flavors and foods throughout his life. He also worked as a driver for the New York Times at the age of 18 through his retirement. His An avid outdoorsman, Thomas loved hunting and fishing, and he looked forward to his annual offshore fishing trips to Key West, FL.
Thomas and his wife were dedicated members of the Cape Henlopen ELKS Lodge 2540, where he was affectionately known as the "Pie Man."
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Henry Clougher. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lynda Mary (Frain) Clougher; his children, Jennifer Pinder (Joe) and Keith Clougher (Danielle); his grandchildren, Jordan Pinder and Joey Pinder; and his sister, Kathy Kerwin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 1 PM at Cape Henlopen ELKS Lodge 2540 18544 Beaver Dam Rd, Lewes, DE 19958. Visitation will take place from 12 to 1 PM prior to the service. A luncheon will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, or to Cape Henlopen ELKS Lodge 2540, 18544 Beaver Dam Rd, Lewes, DE 19958.
Thomas will be remembered for his warmth, his culinary talents, and his love for the great outdoors
