Thomas J. Campione's Obituary
Thomas J. Campione, 79, of Lewes, DE, and formerly of Churchville, PA, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on January 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born February 27, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Pilla) Campione.
Tom was a distinguished graduate of Frankford High School,Temple University School of Pharmacy, and St. Joseph’s University, where he earned a Master’s in Health Administration. He had a successful career as a pharmacist, an educator, and a hospital executive. He previously served as the President of the Board of Directors of BARC Developmental Services in Bucks County, PA. Tom was a man of strong Christian faith who served as a volunteer in many church leadership capacities.
Tom was an intelligent, kind and generous man who loved history, movies, music, languages and geography. He had a sharp sense of humor and enjoyed deep conversations and lively discussions on various topics. Above all, Tom was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. One of the most cherished chapters of his life was being “Pop” and he took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and most especially, his grandchildren. Tom enjoyed nothing more than watching them grow.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara (Little) Campione; three daughters, Lauren (Eric) Schoeler, Robyn Campione, and Christie (Joseph) McDevitt; four grandchildren, Catharine Jane McDevitt, Amalia Josephine McDevitt, Eric Thomas Schoeler, and Joseph John McDevitt; one brother, John (Jane) Campione; and sisters-in-law Anna Campione, Lorraine Bell, and Diane (Harry) Drude. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, many cousins, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Augustus (Anna) Campione.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m., with Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Redemption Episcopal Church ,1101 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966.
For friends and neighbors in Delaware, Celebration of Life will also be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at: St. George’s Episcopal Chapel, 20271 Beaver Dam Road (Route 23) Harbeson, DE 19951. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
