Thomas Edward Butcavage's Obituary
Thomas “Tom” Edward Butcavage, 83, of Lewes, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Excelcare in Lewes, DE.
He was born on September 12, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Stanley J. and Mary (Yevics) Butcavage.
Tom was a loving husband to Lorena for 61 years, and a caring and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s University. For the last 25 years of his working life, Tom served as a pastoral care chaplain at St. Agnes Hospital in South Philadelphia. He was also a retired deacon of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
After fully retiring from St. Agnes Hospital and the Archdiocese, Tom and Lorena moved to Lewes, Delaware, where they enjoyed the quiet life and the many offerings of the area.
Tom will be deeply missed and forever loved by all the lives he touched.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.
