Theresa Sewell, 95
Theresa J. Sewell went home to be with the Lord on June 15, 2024, after a long illness. She was 95 years old.
Theresa was born on July 31, 1928, in Wilmington DE. She was the daughter of the late Henry B. Fisher and Barbara E. Fisher.
She was a graduate of St. Paul’s in Wilmington DE. Theresa was an associate with Sears for 30 years. She was an active member of St. Edmond’s Church, choir, and sodality for many years. She transferred to St. Jude the Apostle Church where she was a member until death. Theresa sang in the choir and was a member of the Columbiettes. She was a member of the Southern Delaware Diocese Choir. Theresa was a volunteer for the Lewes Senior Center and a docent for the Lewes Historical Society.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sewell, siblings, Barbara Austin, and Anthony Fisher.
Theresa is survived by her 2 daughters Elizabeth T. Wright and husband Wilson Wright of Lincoln, Roberta A. Smith of Ellendale; 5 grandchildren, Theresa Pierce Gooch and husband Eric, Lisa Pierce Cerchio and husband Michael, Wayne Smith and wife Gina, Michelle Taylor and husband Walt and Anthony Smith and wife Heather; 7 great- grandchildren, Alexis Gooch, Michael Fisher and Elizabeth Cerchio, Dillon Taylor and wife Natalie, Garrett, Layne and Victoria Smith; 1 great-great grandchild Susan Elizabeth Taylor. She is also survived by many church friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 24th from 6-8 pm at Parsell Funeral Homes Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway Lewes, DE 19958. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 25th at 11am where friends and family may visit 1 hour before Mass at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes Delaware 19958.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes DE 19958.
