Theresa Blanche Manning's Obituary
Theresa Blanche Manning, age 86, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Haverhill, MA on February 21, 1927.
Mrs. Manning enjoyed a lifelong career as a Real Estate Agent for Long & Foster and JC Chattal Real Estate in the Alexandria, VA and Washington, DC locals. She enjoyed selling real estate and investing and selling properties for herself. During the 1970's Mrs. Manning was extremely active in the Republican Party putting all her support behind Gerald Ford.
Mrs. Manning was a Life Master Bridge player. Much of her leisure time was spent playing a challenging game of Bridge. She played with numerous Bridge Clubs in Alexandria, VA and loved the comradery her Bridge friends brought to her life. She travelled extensively throughout her life, always ready for a new adventure. An avid tennis player, Mrs. Manning enjoyed spending time at the Army Navy Country Club, perfecting her game. She was a very driven volunteer, serving as a Docent with a number of museums and theaters in the Metropolitan DC area.
Mrs. Manning will be remembered for her outgoing personality and ability to make any party fun, making all feel welcomed. Her love for a fine glass of sherry will remain as footprints on many hearts.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Manning was preceded in death by her three brothers; one sister and a great granddaughter. She is survived by her two sons: William "Bill" Manning and wife Beverly of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Chris Manning of Alexandria; two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
