Theodore Samuels' Obituary
Theodore Samuels “Ted,” age 89 of Greenwood, DE, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at his home. He was born on May 4, 1934, in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Louis and Ella Samuels.
Ted was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the US Army. He enlisted at 19 years old and attended basic training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. During his three years of service, Ted was stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas and was deployed to Juarez, Mexico. Following his service to country, he began his career with the Federal Aviation Administration, dedicating many years, until his retirement as an electronics technician. Ted had many hobbies and interests. An avid sports fan, he was especially enthusiastic about the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. Ted always enjoyed watching college athletes move up the ranks into the pros. He was a good cook, but also had an affinity for his favorite Chinese restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, although to hear Ted tell it, his favorite food was candy. He loved to play baseball in his youth and continued into adulthood, representing his company in the Army softball league. Ted truly cherished the time spent with those important to him. He will be deeply missed.
