Tamara Omega Booth's Obituary
Tamara "Tami" Omega Booth, 80, of Milton, Delaware, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026.
Born on November 29, 1945, in Roanoke, Virginia, Tami was the beloved daughter of the late Ivah Booth and Charles Booth. She graduated from Jefferson Senior High School before answering the call to serve her country through a distinguished military career.
Tami proudly served in the United States Navy from 1968 until her retirement in 1992, attaining the rank of Hospital Corpsman Chief (HMC). Throughout her military career, she served as a Hospital Corpsman and Emergency Medical Technician, providing compassionate care to countless service members. Her assignments included service aboard the USNS Harkness and the NOAA Ship Mount Mitchell. She served during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.
Her dedication and professionalism earned her numerous military honors, including the Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Expeditionary Award. She was respected for her unwavering commitment to caring for others and serving her country with honor.
On October 2, 2013, Tami married the love of her life, Veronica G. Stephens, in Rockville, Maryland. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion in Milton, Delaware.
Tami is survived by her loving wife, Veronica G. Stephens of Milton, Delaware, as well as her many nieces and nephews in Roanoke, Virginia, who will forever treasure her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivah and Charles Booth, and her sister, Hope Booth, all of Roanoke, Virginia.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In accordance with Tami's wishes, no visitation is scheduled at this time, and no donations are requested.
Tami will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and unwavering sense of duty. She devoted her life to caring for others, both in military service and in her personal life. Her kindness, resilience, and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed, while her legacy of service and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her.
