Suzanne T. Shevock's Obituary
Suzanne T. Shevock, age 77 of Lewes, DE, formerly of Cresson, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Delaware Hospice Center, in Milford, DE. She was born Tuesday, October 3, 1939 in Huntingdon, PA, daughter to the late Harold and Juanita Schettig.
Mrs. Shevock graduated from Mount Aloysius Academy in 1957. She was a graduate of St. Francis University, Class of '62 where she met her future husband of 54 years, David Shevock. They married in June of 1962. She lived in Delaware all of her married life.
Mrs. Shevock had a passion for golf and was a member of the Kings Creek Country Club. She was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, DE.
Mrs. Shevock battled with cancer for a year and a half but fought it until the bitter end. She was a very protective and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shevock is preceded in death by, her sister, Margaret. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, David Shevock; her sons, Geoffrey (Sandy), Stephen (Debbie) and David II (Dawn); her brothers: James, Thomas, William and Kenneth Schettig; her Black Lab, Bubba; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017at 10 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958. Entombment will follow the services at the Henlopen Memorial Park, 28787 Lockerman Road, Milton, DE.
Friends may call on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Shevock's name to the Tunnel Cancer Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958 or to the Lewes Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 225, Lewes, DE 19958.
The family would like to thank the special nurses and aides of 2 Lynch at Beebe Hospital.
