Suzanne B. Kihn's Obituary
Suzanne B. Kihn, age 86 of Dover, DE passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. She was born on November 16, 1936, in Plainfield, NJ, daughter of the late John and Eleanor (McKay) Bartlett.
Mrs. Kihn enjoyed a lengthy career as a schoolteacher for the Dover Air Force Base School District, retiring after many dedicated years. She gave her love, time, and talents generously and always shared with her students the love of learning. Mrs. Kihn believed in giving back to her community and she dedicated thousands of hours to volunteer service for the Cape Henlopen Food Basket and Delaware Long Term Care, Ombudsman Program, an activity she found most rewarding. Volunteering was important to her, especially for her church, where she helped with the annual church bazaar and local food pantry. Faith was a pillar in her life, and she was a devoted member of All Saints Episcopal Church. When her time was not spent volunteering, she enjoyed going to the beach, playing cards (bridge was a favorite), and reading. But her favorite thing was to spend time with all of her family whether that was around the card table, during family meals, or during a beach vacation. Mrs. Kihn was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and her presence will be forever missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kihn was predeceased by her son, John David Kihn, and her daughter, Jennifer Lee Kihn, and her brother, John Wallace Bartlett. She is survived by her children: Jeffrey Alan Kihn of Millington, MD, and Cynthia K. Todoroff of Manheim, PA; her sister, Carolyn Bartlett Murdoch of Fernandina Beach, FL; her 6 grandchildren; and her 6 great grandchildren.
A private service will be held at St. George's Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mrs. Kihn's memory to the Cape Henlopen Food Basket, https://capehenlopenfoodbasket.org/.
