Suzanne Crafts Davidson's Obituary
Suzanne Crafts Davidson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, in her home, in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. She was surrounded by family and friends.
A graduate of Lasell College in Massachusetts, with a major in Early Childhood Education, Sue pursued the promotion of early childhood programs throughout her career. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher at a private school in Needham, Massachusetts. In the afternoon she coached fifth and sixth grade girls sports at The Dover Country Day School. After moving to Pennsylvania, she co-founded Bright Spot Child Care in Trappe. There, she taught and managed a very successful pre-school and kindergarten for over 36 years and continued to serve on the Board of Directors following her retirement. Her leadership in developing and promoting Early Childhood Education was recognized in 2013 by the PA State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance with their Layman Honor Award.
Sue and Randy were lifelong partners in everything in which they were involved, from professional endeavors to community and church commitments. Together, they enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends. Sue was always happy to be with a group of people, be it with her family, grandchildren around a campfire, with her church community, at a concert, or on a cruise. She loved and was loved by her many friends and family.
Suzanne Davidson is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Randy Davidson, devoted and caring son Jeff Davidson (Deirdre) and daughter Jennifer Riddell (Shawn Riddell), five amazing grandchildren PJ and Caitlyn Riddell, Keeley, Keagan, and Kendall Davidson, brother William Crafts, nephews Scott Crafts, John Davidson, Scott Davidson, and nieces, Connie Crafts, and Kim Buhl.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist of Southern Delaware, where Sue was actively involved, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:00p.m. There will also be a Remembrance Celebration in Moyer Hall at Saint Luke’s in Trappe Pennsylvania on March 1, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bright Spot c/o the Suzanne C.
