Susan White's Obituary
Susan White, age 70 of Lewes, Delaware, passed away surrounded by her family on June 19, 2023, at her home. She was born on August 15, 1952, in Hackensack, New Jersey, daughter of the late Stanley and May Moronski.
After graduating from Cliffside Park High School in 1970, Susan went on to study Speech and Theater at Montclair State University, then completed her BA in Communications from Bloomfield College. In 1973 she met Roger White at Wallace’s Tavern, where he was playing in a band. They married in 1974, and the two were blessed with two beautiful children, Laurel and Robert. Susan was a pillar in the community, leading her daughter’s Brownie and Girl Scout Troops, her son’s Cub Scout Troop, and cheering at her son’s many football games. The family resided in Montclair, West Orange, and Plainsboro, NJ, before retiring to Lewes in 2017.
Susan’s career included positions at Gerald Freeman Public Relations, NJ Prevent Child Abuse, and Zinnser Corporation. She spent her time volunteering with a number of Democratic organizations, becoming a board member of the HOA, leading the travel club, and participating in many cancer survivor groups, such as Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and outreach organizations.
Whether you knew Susan White for 50 years or 5 minutes, she could always make you remember how a life lived in the moment, with a little kindness, love, and hard work, though never perfect, could still be wonderful. Her life, though cut short, will be celebrated for many years to come.
Susan is survived by her husband, Roger White of Lewes, DE; her daughter, Laurel White of Franklin, NJ; her son, Robert White (Dachel) of Bristol PA: her grandchildren: Maxwell and Isabella; her sister, Sally Gioeni of Lewes, DE; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
A celebration of life will be held on July 1, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at The Riding’s Club House.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Susan’s memory to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, 100 W. 10th Street, Ste. 209, Wilmington, DE 19801, or the Unite for Her, www.uniteforher.org.
