Susan Ann Simcox's Obituary
Susan Ann Simcox, age 59, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, in Ocean View, Delaware after a brief illness. Susan was born in the District of Columbia and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. She attended Bethesda--Chevy Chase High School and the University of Maryland. For nearly thirty years she worked at the Federal Communications Commission as a manager and specialist in equal employment law. In 1999 Susan retired to the Delaware Shore.
Susan was known for her love of animals and, in particular, her beloved show dog "Darla," a champion Lhasa Apso, and her two talking parrots. She was also a gardener, a collector of rare jewelry, a rock music fan, and a Washington Redskins zealot. Susan was fond of the beach and it had always been her dream to retire there.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Helen Simcox of Chevy Chase, Maryland. She is survived by her companion of more than two decades, Scott Roberts of Edgewater, MD; her brothers John Simcox of Annapolis, MD and Howard Simcox, Jr. of Gaithersburg, MD; and her sister Deborah Simcox of Boise, Idaho. She is also remembered lovingly by two sisters-in-law, Gail Simcox and Judith Simcox, and four nieces and nephews, John, Gregory, Dana and Howard III.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may call thirty minutes prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Susan's name to Delaware SPCA, 22918 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947.
