Susan Lee Lilley's Obituary
The world was forever dimmed on April 7, 2024, when Susan “Sue” (Ervin) Lilley, 66, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away at home, surrounded by her family.
A proud Delco native, Sue was a free spirit who was born and lived most of her life in Ridley Township. It was there she met her husband of nearly 45 years, Rick. Together they raised 3 daughters before being blessed with the light of their lives, their grandson, Ethan.
When Sue became a grandmother, she found her true calling and also became known as “Big G”. Nothing brought her more joy than Ethan. Sue loved time spent with her grandson. From cracking silly jokes to trips to Ocean City, MD, the good times and memories they made together were endless.
Sue had a wickedly witty sense of humor that made everyone feel welcome and wanted. She loved hosting family and friends and having the opportunity to shower them with gifts. Her generous spirit was unmatched and will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Sue is predeceased by her father John F. Ervin, who died in 2009.
She is survived by her mother, Jerry Ervin; her husband Rick Lilley; her daughters: Jennifer Lilley, Liz (Will) Lilley-Havens, Melissa (Jay) Lilley-Millar; and a son, Thom (Karen) Froehlich; her grandson Ethan Millar; niece Claire (Chris) Hansell; and a gaggle of great nieces and nephews that loved her beyond measure. She also leaves behind her very best friend, her Kitty Girl.
In keeping with Sue’s generous spirit, she chose to donate her remains to medical science rather than have a funeral. We all know we could never throw a shindig quite like her anyway.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you celebrate Sue’s life with a donation to ASPCA at aspca.org.
