Susan Carrie Crichley's Obituary
Susan “Sue” Carrie Crichley, age 71, of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Christiana Care, in Newark, DE. Born on May 8, 1952, in Alexandria, VA, she was the daughter of the late Bascom and Camilla (Sedlacek) Scott.
In 1982, Sue married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Crichley and the two would share over four decades creating many cherished memories raising their sons and enjoying life to the fullest. Sue had a magnetic, fun-loving personality and she had many close personal friendships, which she treasured. For ten years, she worked as an administrative assistant at the medical office of Dr. Edward C. Watters, MD, retiring in June 2012. It was a job that she enjoyed very much, and she met dozens of people over the course of her time there. Sue believed that it was important to give back to the community and she took great pleasure in mentoring elementary school children as often as she could. She loved planting flowers and tending to them in her yard, and she enjoyed the company of her beloved kitties. Above all, the time spent with those Sue held dear was what she cherished most. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Sue’s beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Sue is survived by her adoring husband, Chuck, her sons, Shawn T. Crichley (Holly) of Dublin, OH, and Kevin P. Cooley (Taylor) of Hanford, CA; her sister, Joanne Denny; her brother, Randolph Scott; her beloved grandchildren, Addison M. Crichley, Owen C. Crichley, Claudia C. Crichley, all of Dublin, OH, and Kameron P. Cooley and Karson B. Cooley, of Hanford, CA.
