Steve-
Life is so funny and unpredictable. One minute you’re dancing to a great tune and lighting up the life of the person you’re dancing with; meeting with family and having a drink, and a week later, life takes an unexpected turn.
A surgical procedure that happens to many people all the time, takes a turn. One minute you’re out of the woods & it’s thumbs up and four hours later, everything changes.
It’s Christmas time and the celebration has to take a pause. We gather together as a family one more time.
You’ve been called Home, and while that is such a blessing, especially because you’ll be with Steve, your family and friends are left with sadness.
We’ve all had great times together- all the memories, the Wilzy feasts, The Christmas parties with the snickerdoodles; Christmas caroling & pinochle games that lasted for hours and hours.
So many trips to the shore, so much laughter, so much fun, so much love. My visit to see the Atlantic Ocean was with you in 1972!
You are wonderful brother-in-law, and I have enjoyed all the assignments that Ted & I had together with you. The antique shopping in Belguim; the customs of the German Christmas markets and the hot, spicy Glühwein.
I will miss your big smile with the twinkle in your eyes & how easy laughter came to you.
I am sorry that I could not make it here today. I know you understand.
You are home now. Rest well in the arms of your son and our Heavenly Father.
Love,
Sandra
