Sorin Dragos Greer-Pinzaru's Obituary
Sorin Dragos Greer-Pinzaru, 16, of Lewes, Delaware, passed away on October 6, 2025. Born on March 26, 2009, in Lewes, Sorin was a bright and vibrant young man who touched the lives of many.
A junior at Cape Henlopen High School, Sorin was a dedicated student and a passionate learner, excelling in math, science and advanced placement computer science. He enjoyed Spanish language classes and was working on improving his Romanian, his father's native tongue. He was a proud member of the school’s wrestling team, where he demonstrated strength, discipline, and teamwork.
Sorin was an avid gamer, who loved video games, and always brought energy and strategy to everything he did. He was also an enthusiastic fan of all things Manga and Anime. He had a sharp wit and a playful spirit, especially when it came to joking around with his friends and teasing his sisters. He enjoyed days at the beach and weekends with his friends. Through his classes at Cape, and by working with his father, he developed a talent and appreciation for woodworking and carpentry.
Sorin's greatest love was his family. He is survived by his parents, Leah Greer and Adrian Pinzaru; his sisters, Roisin Greer-Roelants, Morgan Greer-Roelants, and Yasmin Greer-Pinzaru; his grandparents, Sue Greer, Ruth Lamothe, Anicuta Pinzaru, and Constantin Pinzaru; his uncle, Mircea Pinzaru; his cousin Olivia Pinzaru; his aunt, Paula Brandiburg; his cousins Miruna, Mara, and Paul Brandiburg; and his two nieces, Kehlani Nash and Ember McCloskey.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at the Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware, 30486 Lewes Georgetown Highway, Lewes, DE 19958. All who knew and loved Sorin are welcome to attend and honor his memory.
Sorin will be remembered for his intelligence, his humor, and the deep love he had for those closest to him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know him.
