Shirley Ann Dearborn's Obituary
Shirley Ann Dearborn, of Long Neck, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 26, 2023. She was born on May 5, 1940, in Annapolis, MD, daughter of the late Bill and Clara (Beard) King.
Shirley graduated from Annapolis High School and worked at Hallmark greeting card stores in Annapolis for 13 years. She and her husband lived in Annapolis until building their home in Creeks End in 2007. Shirley loved the beach, gardening, laying by the pool with her e-book, and snuggling with her beloved shih-tzu, Britney. Above all else, she loved her family, and her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother. Known as Grammy, she built the pool at home as a grandchild magnet.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Mary. She is survived by her high school sweetheart, Dave, to whom she was married for 64 years. Their marriage was a happy partnership and they were rarely apart. She is also survived by her children: Michael Dearborn and Sheri Gorman, both of Maryland; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
