Sharon McClintock Richardson's Obituary
Sharon M. Richardson of Lewes, DE, died on March 25, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born a month a part and a block apart from her future husband, Sharon was a graduate of Beall High School in Frostburg, MD, where she and Tom frequently dated. Following high school, Sharon attended Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Cumberland, MD, graduating in 1966. Sharon and Tom were married in 1968, moving to New York City while he finished his graduate studies. While in Manhattan, they shared a small, cramped apartment and the beginning of 48 years of fabulous memories. A move to Illinois brought new friends, their first homes and the births of their two children, Juanita and Joel. The family made a long-term move to Virginia in 1979, where they raised their children, traveled extensively and made even more lasting friendships. In 1998, Tom and Sharon moved to a long-wished-for house on the water in Severna Park, MD, where they entertained many wonderful friends. Retiring to Lewes, DE, in 2007, they were blessed with even more wonderful friends and enjoyed living at the beach.
In addition to her love of her family, she enjoyed travelling, ballroom dancing with Tom, reading and the family’s numerous dogs. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Tom, and her children Juanita and Joel and their spouses, Niall Kennedy and Natalie Johnson. She is also survived by her niece and nephews; Mark and Brian Nightingale, Chris McClintock, and Julie Albright. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Marie McClintock, and by her brother and sister, Richard McClintock and Juanita Nightingale.
