Sata Wada Davis' Obituary
Sata Wada Davis “Sadako”, age 89 of Rehoboth Beach, DE. passed away on Sunday October 14, 2012 at Cadbury at Lewes. Mrs. Davis was born on Feb. 10, 1923 in Yamagata, Japan, daughter of the late Suruzo Wada and Taka Nagooka. For many years she was a teacher and librarian for the Zama American School in Camp Zama, Japan. It was here she met her late husband Frank H. Davis who passed in 1998.
Mrs. Davis was an avid artist and was very active in the Rehoboth Art League and many other art interests in the Rehoboth area. Right up until her passing she was active with the Osher Life Long Learning Institute at the University of Delaware in Lewes. An avid gardener, she reveled in the beauty of nature and the great joy that each day brought to her.
She is survived by two sisters, Sakato Ina Gai and Tetsu Wad both of Japan; her husbands’ niece and nephews, Patricia Ann Mercer of Wyoming, DE, John G. Davis, Jr. of Dover, DE and Paul G. Davis of Sudbury, Mass.; 3 great nieces in the US and 2 nephews and a niece in Japan.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Henlopen Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
