Sandra L. Purdy's Obituary
Sandra L. Purdy, age 69, of Lewes, DE, passed away suddenly on Friday Feb. 6th, 2026, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE. She was born on October 23, 1956, in Milford DE, daughter of the late James and Cecelia Hudson. Sandi as many knew her by, lived in Lewes and was a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and she had also attended Wesley College in Dover where she studied music.
Sandi had the innate ability to play several different instruments and spent many hours as well enjoying music. Often, she could be found doing gardening, working with arts and crafts, cooking, baking and bird watching. In her early years she enjoyed horseback riding and trying her skills at Barrel Racing. But, most of all she enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends.
She is survived by the love of her life Forrest (Stan) Purdy; four daughters, Karen Bailey, Alicia Purdy, Heather Purdy, and Amanda Purdy; three grandsons, Stanley Purdy, Austin Bailey, and Luke Riley, five granddaughters, Katlyn Bailey, Samantha Anderson, Remi Bailey, Alyssa Newcomer, and Miranda Leonard; two brothers, Kenny Hudson and Ronnie May and five great grandsons and one great granddaughter; and her beloved dog Squeaker who was always by her side.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday Feb. 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium , Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where a viewing will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the services at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes, DE
