Sandra Rose Mylod's Obituary
Sandra Rose (Larkin) Mylod, age 68, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2009, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE after a courageous two year battle with cancer. She was born on July 13, 1940 in Freeport, New York, daughter of the late Lawrence P. Larkin and Caroline Jane Aldom Larkin Mrs. Mylod retired in 1998 from the East Cheltenham Pennsylvania Public Libraries. She was a graduate of the Sacred Heart Academy at Rockville Center, New York and received her BA from the University of Vermont in 1962. She then received her Masters in Library Science from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York. and continued Post Graduate work at Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg, PA.
She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Philadelphia, PA . She was also a member of the cancer support group of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and was a member of the Unnamed Book Club of Pilottown Village.
She was the beloved wife of the Rev. Robert Thomas Mylod, devoted and loving mother of Meredith Rose Baer of Woodstock, Va. and Irene R. Raine and husband Michael of Lewes, DE and Robert T. Mylod, II of Winchester, Va. and grandmother to Cheryl Fettinger and Brittany Mylod. She is also survived by a brother James Larkin and niece Diane Larkin both of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Funeral services will be at held on Monday March 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 7 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE where calling and viewing hours will be one hour prior to services. Rev.Pastor Donald C. Schaefer will officiate. Viewing and calling hours will also be held Sunday evening at the church from 6-8 PM . Burial will be private at St. Peters Cemetery, Pilottown, Lewes, DE.
