Samuel M. Allen's Obituary
Samuel Bruce Dickson, age 69, of Lewes, DE died Friday, May 5, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE. Born Nov.23, 1936 his journey honed, and sharpened him to a true renaissance man. A noted U.S. Marine, police officer and member of Masonic Lodge 775 Steelton-Swatara, Pa. Sam was respected as a leader, as well as a contributor. His creative skills were dedicated to 20 plus years of lead electrical service at the Community General Osteopathic Hospitl of Harrisburg, PA, to part time electrician at his second home, the American Legion, Post 28 Oak Orchard in Millsboro, DE. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he is now reunited with his son Michael B. Dickson, father Fred B. Dickson, and mother Evelyn P. Dickson. Sam's lifelong dream became a reality in 1995 when they moved to Angola beach, Lewes DE, to be able tinker in his shop, boat as he pleased, take cruises, and dance with his wife.
His memory is sustained by his sons Timothy Dickson, Lewes, DE; Christopher Dickson of Middletown, DE; Robert Statler, Jr. of Reston, VA; and his daughter Cara Hinderer of Millsboro, DE. But none more strongly than by his wife, dance partner, first mate, and love of his life Cynthia K. Dickson. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to American Legion Post 28, Oak Orchard, or to Alcoholics Anonymous, Lewes, DE Chapter.
Services will be held at 11:00 Friday May 19th at the DE Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Post 28, Oak Orchard, RT 24, Millsboro, DE.
