Ryan Michael Andrew's Obituary
Ryan Michael Andrew, age 16 of Lewes, DE passed away tragically on July 15, 2024, as a result of an automobile accident. Ryan was born on June 10, 2008 in Newark, DE, son of Laura (Armstrong) Andrew and Timothy Andrew. Though he left this world too soon, he left it a better place.
Known for his kind heart, quick wit and infectious smile and laugh, Ryan has left a lasting impact on everyone that knew him. He lived each and every day to the fullest and had such an extreme zest for life and fun. He could often be found helping his family around the outside of the home, fishing and biking around town with friends, surfing or boogie boarding at the beach, cruising around and waterskiing on the boat, spending time with his grandparents or working at Quest which usually also included daily stops at the Lewes Daily Market. He also enjoyed connecting and laughing with his friends through facetime while gaming on their X-Box, his annual ski trips with his family and friends, attending Penn State football games and concerts.
Ryan was a rising Junior at Cape Henlopen High School where he had participated on the football team, the track team where he pole vaulted with his step-brother Eddie and most recently found his new sports love on the lacrosse team.
In addition to his parents Laura (Patrick O’Leary) Andrew and Timothy (Alison Houck) Andrew, he is survived by his siblings Ashlyn Andrew and Eddie Houck of Lewes, DE and Ella Marefat of Wilmington, DE; his grandparents Shelia and John Gladstone of Milford, DE, Ted and Diane Andrew and Renee and Greg Weer of Lewes, DE; his Aunt Danielle (Allen) Crouthamel of Paupack, PA, Aunt Shelly Hartford of Milton, DE, Uncle Michael (Kerry Mayer-Carafano) Andrew of Henryville, PA, Uncle Christopher Gladstone of Dover, DE, Aunt Emily Weer of Truckee, CA, cousins Logan and Riley Crouthamel of Paupack, PA, Sara Neubauer of Lake Washington, WA, Danielle Neubauer of Indianapolis, IN, Dev Hartford of Milton, DE, Sabrina Gladstone of Dover, DE, innumerable friends, teachers, and coaches.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday August 8, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Cape Henlopen High School Auditorium. The family requests all guests to be dressed in beach casual attire.
