Grammie Ruth was the best grandmother a girl could ask for. I took her to church this past spring, and one of her friends said to her, “I bet you’re in Heaven having your granddaughter here,” and she said, “I am so happy,” and squeezed my hand. I could see it on her face, too. I’ll forever cherish that moment. I’ll always miss her smile, her laugh and her light, and I’ll think of her every time I snuggle up with the handmade quilt she gifted me 4 years ago for my college graduation. Every time I’m sad, or sick, or tired, or simply.. cold.. I’ll be wrapped in her memory and her love. Love you lots, she always said, and I always knew just how much she meant it.
