I grieve at losing my classmate and fellow bride player When I would call, she would always answer the phone with “Hi honey, how are you?” She was always kind and considerate . My heart goes out to Keith and the girls and grandchildren I’ll miss her.
I loved her laugh, that wicked sense of humor, her devotion to teaching and her students, that fierce loyalty to friends, and the adoration of her girls and Keith. Her loss is devastating to those who love her, and I am one who mourns her passing, for Ruth Ann was a precious, precious friend whom I admired and respected immensely. My, could we share intriguing tales about those excursions to Mexico and Spain with our students from Delaware! There was never a dull moment since Ruth Ann was such a delightful traveling companion. Sad we are for the loss of someone whom we have loved deeply; however, Ruth Ann lives on in the beautiful memories we share of a life well lived. Jim and I send our love to Keith, Pam, Kelly, Jen, and their families.

Mrs. Phillips was one of my favorite teachers at Laurel High School - she was kind, yet demanding all at the same time. My French skills (what is left of them) can be attributed to her. But more importantly, my love for the French culture, for the beauty of the language, and the exquisiteness of a buttery croissant can all be directly attributed to Ruth Ann Phillips. Mr. Phillips, Kelly, Pam, and Jenny - I know you will miss her every day, but I hope you know how many lives she touched.
