Rudolph Michael Komacek's Obituary
Rudolph "Rudy" Michael Komacek of Lewes, Delaware, 98, passed away on Saturday July 25th, 2026. Born on March 21st, 1928 in Binghamton, New York, he was a son of the late Francis and Theresa (Hrupsa) Komacek.
Rudolph was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and served in World War II and Korea. He had worked as a superintendent at a golf course in Binghamton, New York. He later moved to Delaware where he would settle and start his business where he designed septic systems. One of Rudolph's passions was dancing and he was truly exceptional at dancing.
In addition to his parents, Rudolph was preceded by his loving wife, Edna Komacek, who passed in 1976. Also his parents; brothers, Cyril F. Komacek, and John T. Komacek and his niece, Cathy.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Vorobel; eight nieces and nephews, Cy, Mary, Margie, George, James, Michele, Theresa, and John and many cousins who reside in Delaware. He will also be remembered by his special friends, Shawn, Kitty, and K9 friend, Thomas.
Rudolph will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church 152 Tulip Drive Lewes, DE 19958. Visitation for friends and family will be held one hour prior to Mass from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors immediately following Mass at Hopkins Cemetery, Hopkins Cemetery Rd. Rt. 281 Felton, DE 19943.
