Rudolph Kettering, Jr.
June 22, 1960 – March 10, 2025
Rudolph Kettering, Jr., age 64, of Millsboro, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 10, 2025. Born on June 22, 1960, in Queens, NY, he was the beloved son of the late Rudolph and Muriel (Higbie) Kettering.
Rudolph dedicated many years of his life to serving as a maintenance worker for the City University of New York, retiring after decades of hard work and dedication. Outside of work, he had a passion for spending time outdoors. Whether it was riding his motorcycle or enjoying time on his boat, Rudolph found peace and joy in the open air. He also spent a few years as an active member of the Boy Scouts, where he enjoyed mentoring and guiding others.
Rudolph loved to take trips to visit out-of-state family, creating lasting memories along the way. He was the life of family get-togethers, always bringing laughter and joy to those around him. Above all, Rudolph loved his family with all his heart, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Kettering of Salisbury, MD; his children: Lynnann Feal (Antonio) of Millsboro, DE, and Rudolph Kettering III (Jessica Larkin) of Pittsfield, MA; his cherished grandsons: James, Sean, and Aden Kettering, all of Pittsfield, MA; and his siblings: Marjorie Mandia of Massapequa Park, NY, Joseph Thornton of Highland Mills, NY, Ronnie Melio of Staten Island, NY, Katherine Melio of Seattle, WA, and Michael Melio of Texas.
Rudolph will be remembered for his kind heart, dedication to his family, and his passion for life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
