Roy Andrews' Obituary
Roy Andrews, age 74, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at his residence. He was born September 23, 1933 in Sparta, NC son of the late Alonzo and Lori (Sparks) Andrews.
Mr. Andrews was retired from Dover Air Force Base where he was a Master Sergeant; he served his country during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam war. Following his military career, he owned and operated four charter fishing boats: Lady Esther, Missene 3, Missene 2 and Super Shark, out of Indian River Inlet for 40 years. He was a member of the Ocean View VFW and he enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, working on boat engines and boats in general.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Esther E. (Leftwich) Andrews; his daughter Michelle Andrews of Lewes; his son Jeffrey Andrews and his wife Jamie of Lewes; a grandson Austin Brock; a granddaughter Kearah Andrews of Lewes; two sisters, Treva Deboard of Maryland and Rosalie Tenney of Maine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Tressie Wiley.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park Cemetery, Route 1, Milton, DE. Pastor David Munro will be officiating.
