Roxane Dabbs Franklin's Obituary
Roxane Dabbs Franklin, a cherished mother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 25, 2023, at the age of 65 in Lewes, DE. Born on April 29, 1958, in Bethesda, MD, the daughter of the late Thomas Dabbs and Effie Dabbs.
Roxane’s educational pursuits culminated in an associate degree, which paved the way for a remarkable career as a State Farm Insurance agent, a role she dedicated herself to for 47 years. Roxane's professional life was characterized by her unwavering commitment to her clients and colleagues, earning her respect and admiration from all who worked with her.
Beyond her professional achievements, Roxane was an enthusiast of life's simple pleasures. In her younger years, she was an avid volleyball player and bowler, sharing her competitive spirit and camaraderie with many friends over the years. Autumn Sundays found her cheering passionately for her favorite team, the Denver Broncos led by her favorite player, John Elway, a pastime that brought her immense joy. However, Roxane found that her greatest happiness was spending time with her family. Roxane will be deeply missed, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Roxane's is survived by her beloved children, son Daniel Franklin II (Grant) and daughter Rebecca Franklin (Becca), her sister Mary Barkdoll and her husband Jerry Barkdoll, her nephews, Scott Barkdoll and David Fournelle, and former husband Daniel Franklin. Roxane was predeceased by her parents, sister Thelma Fournelle and her nephew Patrick Fournelle.
