Rose Marie Massella, age 101 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Rose was born in Yonkers, NY on May 27, 1923, daughter of the late Raffaele Pistone & Rosalina (Abate) Pistone Read Obituary
What a pleasure to have shared in the love light energy with Rose! Always enjoyed breaking bread and sipping on some Jesus juice at the kitchen table along with sharing life stories. A beautiful and wonderful eternal soul whose life on this earth was truly a blessing to us all. 🙏💕
Grandma Rosie, an amazing woman of 101 years, was kind, loving, and selfless.
One of my favorite memories of her was a bit of a doozy. When I was 2 or 3 years old, I was with Grandma running errands. She had to stop at the bank and left me in the car. When she came back, I had hopped in the driver's seat and put the car in gear. The car rolled down the hill with Grandma chasing after it, and eventually, I stopped by crashing into the BC Market at the bottom of the hill. Nobody was injured, lol. Up until our last phone call, we would laugh about it.
I’ll always remember our card games, her amazing homemade pizza, crumb cake, and pizzelles. She made every moment special.
I love you, Grandma. You’ll be missed.

What a gem Rose was, more so, what a blessing she was to everyone who was lucky enough to know her. I was one of the lucky ones who got to meet her and spend just a little time with her and that little bit of time was all I needed to just fall in love with this wonderful woman. She was just magic in my eyes. My heart goes out to all who is mourning the loss of Rose.
Grandma Rose- I will always treasure her stories and memories of her cooking. I'm grateful she lived long enough my kids will have those same memories of her too. What a gift and special person she was, not just because she was my grandmother but because she dedicated her life to caregiving and family. Caregiving may not come with a fancy office or salary but it is what makes up our memories, love and family and there is no price on that. Grandma Rose was the CEO!! She also was an inspiration to all of us as we age and I think about her often when I'm preparing meals for my kids. I miss you Grandma and Guy and Shelby miss their Great Grandma. Ralph and I visited his parents one weekend and stayed out very late on Saturday night. When we finally woke the next day, Mrs. Massella had the table set with OJ and a plate with Tylenol and toast with the crust cut off, so we wouldn’t hurt our heads chewing. Later she had prepared a feast so we would be well enough to travel back to Maryland. She is a special person who was kind and sweet. She always greeted you with a smile, and put others before herself. She loved her family and was very proud of all of their accomplishments. Rest in peace Rose. God bless. Mike Lewis
I am so very blessed to have known this incredible woman I call “Aunt Rose”.
Never have I met a more passionate person -- she loved her family immensely and put her whole heart into everything she did. She had an incredible zest for life and her enthusiasm would light up any room, bringing smiles to all our faces. Her kindness brought joy and warmth; she was always willing to give whatever she could to make someone else's day a little brighter.
Her personality was huge! Her laughter contagious! Her generosity boundless! Her cooking unmatched!
I cherish our times together, her stories, and those priceless cooking lessons and recipes! Aunt Rose’s Coffee Crumb Cake and Italian Pizzelles will forever be a holiday tradition in our household.
Aunt Rose's presence is truly irreplaceable, and the void she has left behind is immense. Yet, the memory of her vibrant spirit will continue to fill our hearts forever. Her laughter, warmth, and selfless nature have left an indelible mark on us all.
She has touched the lives of many, and my deepest sympathies go out to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
Rose's memory will be cherished and her spirit will forever be a guiding force, reminding us to live fully and love unconditionally.

Our beautiful Aunt Rose; she touched the heart and soul of everyone that knew her.
She would share her many tales about growing up around her younger brother Erasmus, my father, and their older brother Joseph. She had a remarkable ability to breathe life into these memories.
She spoke of family bonds, and the simple joys of life. Her storytelling was more than just a recounting of events; it was an experience. Her passion for reliving those moments was contagious, and each narrative was told with such detail and emotion that it felt as though you were right there with them.
In every story, she left us with more than just memories; she left us with a reminder of where we came from and the strength that resides within our family.

Grandma you were the best! So many amazing childhood memories were at poppy and your house. I am beyond thankful to have had so many stories to share to my girls of what an amazing great grandma they had. My best memory was you finally meeting my two babies.
