Mrs. Parker enjoyed a lifelong career as a Nurse working in various hospitals, school systems and nursing homes.
Mrs. Parker was a long term member of the First Baptist Church of Laurel in Laurel, MD. She was never a stranger in the church kitchen. If there was a dinner to be prepared or served, Mrs. Parker would be the first in line with her apron in hand. She enjoyed leading activities at the Baptist Home in Baltimore, MD to help the elderly. Being raised on a farm, one of Mrs. Parker's favorite pastimes was gardening. She was known for her green thumb. She loved working in the soil and helping flowers grow. She was especially fond of her roses and lilies.
Mrs. Parker met her late husband, Leon on the dance floor. She continued to dance throughout her married life, from the fun of square dancing in the earlier years, to the elegance of ballroom dancing later in life. Family time was a priority for Mrs. Parker, she relished time spent with her family and grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye.
