Ronald T. Belicki's Obituary
Ron Belicki, age 71, of Rehoboth Beach, DE formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE on Monday, July 16, 2012. He was born in Wilmington, DE on August 15, 1940, son of the late Jean (Tress) Belicki Cockerill.
Mr. Belicki was a Class of 1959 graduate from Salesianum High School. He proudly served his country with the Army National Guard from 1959 until 1967. He enjoyed a long career as a Lab Technician first with ICI Americas, Inc. and then with SPI Polyols in New Castle, DE from which he retired in 1999. He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan who faithfully cheered for his teams.
Ron’s real passion in life was photography. Ron’s photography was exhibited at the Brandywine Arts Festival in Wilmington, the Bethany Beach Arts Festival and other festivals around the area and in neighboring States. He opened his own studio “Silent Moments Photography” specializing in weddings, portraits and family reunions. Ron was especially proud of his cover photograph on the 1982 edition of Delaware Conservations magazine. In 1983 his work was included in the People and Places of Delaware Calendar. As technology evolved so too did Ron growing his business to include the use of DVDs and Face Book.
Mr. Belicki is survived by his wife, Carol (Panik) Belicki of Rehoboth Beach; two daughters: Deborah Barbera and her husband Frank of Pennington, NJ and Donna DiCarlo and her husband Steven of Lincoln University, PA; four grandchildren: Tom and Eric Barbera and Dan and Carolyn DiCarlo; one sister, Sylvia Bowdoin and husband George of Avondale, PA; one brother, Steve Cockerill and wife Patty of Newark, DE; many nieces and nephews; and his favorite companion, his boxer, Rose.
A Catholic Chapel Service will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 12:00 Noon, at All Saints Cemetery Chapel, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE, interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the many doctors and nurses who touched Ron’s life. The family will be forever grateful for the many kindnesses extended to Ron.
