Ronald Swain Baker Jr. age 50 of Lewes, DE passed away suddenly on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was born February 12, 1971, in Havre de Grace, MD, son of Ronald Swain Baker, Sr. and Trudy Lee Thomas. In addition to his mother he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Mary Ruth and Clarence Thomas and paternal grandparents Eunice and William Baker.
Ronnie moved to Delaware in 1983 and later graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1989.
He was an avid outdoorsman who always enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, surfing, waterskiing, grilling and the beach. When he cooked, he always made sure everyone ate well. His wonderful smile would brighten everyone’s day when he walked in the room. As a lover of animals, he has enjoyed the companionship of many beloved dogs through the years, Buckle, Gus, Moose who survive him and Gage, Rudder, Chester, Tori, and Captain who have passed.
Ronnie was a very hard worker and landscaping was his specialty. He had a creative ability to transform areas into picturesque areas of beauty. Many of his landscaped creations can be admired across Sussex County. Also, if something was broken and needed to be fixed, he was the person to call, as he could fix anything.
Ronnie loved his family and friends with all his heart and always held them close, especially his three daughters. His daughter Claire speaks of his excellent math skills. Always a very adventurous and free-spirited person, he left an impression on everything he did and everyone he met. While his physical presence will be missed, there are so many things that will remind us of the love and joy he brought to all our lives.
He is survived by three daughters, Phoebe, Amelia and Claire and their mother Jenny; his father Ronald S. Baker Sr. and stepmother Ruth Ann; sister Noelle Johnson and husband Andrew; brother Daniel Baker and wife Alex; nephew Christian; nieces Amber, Blake, and Madison; girlfriend Rebecca Bradley and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
