Ronald Steen's Obituary
Ronald Steen, age 68, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at home. He was born on February 15, 1947 in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Rudolph and Mildred (Zamostny) Steen.
Ron loved people and he made friends out of strangers everywhere he went. He was a passionate gardener and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to take peaceful walks on the beach and tell the joke of the day. Ron also loved to sing, anytime, anywhere and to anyone. Ron was also a supportive and involved member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Rudolph Steen, Jr. and a sister, Sharon Steen. He is survived by his partner of 21 years, Michael Cockey of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his brother, Eric Steen of Baltimore, MD; his niece, Carrie Steen of Barclay, MD, his nephew, Matthew Steen of Baltimore, MD, and his “adopted Mom,” Renie Vitak, of Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at 1:30 PM, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, where friends may visit beginning at 12:30 PM. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s memory to CAMP Rehoboth, 37 Baltimore Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
