Ronald "HOSS" Robert Hammond's Obituary
Ronald "HOSS" Robert Hammond, Sr., age 74 of Harrington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE where he was surrounded by friends and family. He was born in Milford on May 10, 1939, son of the late Alice Hammond.
Mr. Hammond was formerly from Bridgeville, DE. He spent the last 40 years residing in Harrington, DE. He enjoyed a 35 year career as a Meat Cutter at Safeway and Meatland. He was an avid NASCAR fan who followed Mark Martin. Mr. Hammond's other interest included crabbing and visiting the Amish Country of Lancaster, PA. Mr. Hammond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a dear friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Hammond was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Massey. He is survived by his loving wife Betty (Williamson) Hammond; a son, Randy Hammond and his wife Carol of Felton, DE; a daughter, Rhonda Hammond of Harrington, DE; a brother, Thomas Hammond of Ocean Pines, MD; and a grandson, Kael Kerlick of Newark, DE.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Hammond's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
