Ronald C. Liggett's Obituary
Ronald C. Liggett, 79, of Lincoln, DE, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford, DE. He was born February 14, 1931 in Dayton, KY, son of the late Stewart and Cora (Johnson) Liggett.
Mr. Liggett relocated to the beach in 1996 from Fairfax, VA where he sold cars and recreational vehicles. He was very active with the Little League which he always enjoyed with his sons and he was an avid reader. After retiring to the beach, his hobby was working at his son's carpet store, Carpets Plus Color Tile, in Milford, DE. He also served his country with the U.S. Marine Corp earning a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores B. Liggett in April 2007, his daughter Cynthia L. Bruch in 2005, and two grandchildren. He is survived by three sons: Timothy Liggett and wife Virginia of Winchester, VA, Michael Liggett and wife Linda Jones of Lincoln, DE,Phillip Liggett of Milton, DE; a daughter Karen Burgess and husband David of Winchester, VA; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 3, 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, Delaware Local Chapter, 100 W. 10th Street, #1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
