I had the distinct pleasure to be a colleague of Ronnie Dearstine for more than a decade. He was, without a doubt, one of the finest people I ever had the good fortune to work with. He was bright, innovative, humble and very sharply focused on our mission yet he always maintained his playful sense of humor. Rest in Peace Ronnie. You did very well and I'm proud to have called you my friend.
Ron and I worked together at DIA for several years. I got very little support except from Ron Dearstine and I have always been grateful for that support.
I always found Ron to be very level headed and he was a joy to associate with professionally.
He displayed the qualities that a lot of supervisors lacked.

I remember Ronnie being on my Father's, Cecil Hale's, baseball team when he was about 19 years old. He took over our 6th grade boy's SS class after his Father, George Sr., passed away suddenly. My Mother, Olivia, and Ronnie's Mother were good friends thru the years at Riverdale Baptist. He will be missed.
