Fr. Roman Stadtmueller's Obituary
STADTMUELLER, Fr. Roman SDS - Age 95. Died in Lewes, DE, on May 10,2023. Born Harold Joseph Stadtmueller on March 27, 1928, to Theodore and Elizabeth "Elsie" (Binder) Stadtmueller in Oshkosh, WI. Entered the Society of the Divine Savior (Salvatorians) on September 8, 1948.
Ordained a priest on June 5, 1954. Taught at Jordan Seminary in Menominee, MI, and St. Pius X Seminary in Galt, CA. Served as a missionary in Tanzania, Africa, for 15 years; as Assistant Director of Novices for the USA Salvatorians; as civilian chaplain at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC; as counselor for Catholic Charities in Georgetown, DE; and as a helper priest at St. Jude's Parish in Lewes, DE.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Delores (the late Harry) Kallas. He is survived by brothers Albert (the late Lois) of Spokane, WA, and Paul (the late Katie) of Vero Beach, FL; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins and their families; close friend, Lay Salvatorian Marion Bau SDS, as well as his brothers and sisters in the Salvatorian Family.
Funeral arrangements: June 14, 2023 - St. Pius X Church, 2506 N Wauwatosa Ave - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; Visitation: 10:00 AM; Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM; Interment: Salvatorian Cemetery, St. Nazianz, WI at 3:00 PM.
A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, Delaware, at a later date.
