Roland Samuel Passwaters' Obituary
In Loving Memory of Roland Samuel Passwaters
July 5, 1951 – October 5, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roland Samuel Passwaters on October 5, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on July 5, 1951, Roland lived a life grounded in love, creativity, and adoration for his family and friends. Roland, always searchin’ for a rainbow, lived his life and left traces of his legacy across Delaware and Arizona.
He spent many years in the construction industry, where his pride in his work left a lasting impact across Delaware and Maryland. Throughout his life, Roland’s passion for music became his true labor of love as he dedicated himself to building custom guitars. These guitars were not just instruments but symbols of his love, gifted to his sons and others close to his heart. Music was always central in Roland’s life, and he enjoyed using his music and guitar to bring joy to himself and those around him.
Above all, Roland adored his family and took great pride in his sons, Jason, Jesse and Nathan Passwaters, and their accomplishments. He cherished his sisters Linda Chapman and Evelyn Passwaters and shared a deep bond with his brother Matt Passwaters. Though preceded in death by his sister Debra Evans and his parents Herbert and Pauline Passwaters, their memories lived on in him.
In his final years, Roland found companionship and happiness with his beloved friend and partner Liz Taylor-Cassanelli, who was by his side for the last three years of his life. He adored his grandchildren, grandnieces and nephews, cousins, and anyone he considered family or a close friend. His warmth and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Roland’s life will be celebrated by family and friends at a private service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
